do work.

Think of something that you would like to do tomorrow. More specifically, think of something for tomorrow that you are not prepared for today. Spend today getting prepared so you can do it tomorrow. Accomplish something with a plan.

Do the things today that enable you to do tomorrow what you could not do today.

snowy days in arkansas

•29 January 2010 • Leave a Comment

School was cancelled today. Arkansas just doesn’t know how to handle a snowy day. Though, there are no complaints from me, I am kinda glad. I had a assignment that was incomplete for chemistry. This gives me the oppertunity to finish that last problem with no rush.

There is a bigger reason why I am not complaining about the snow, though. I simply love it. The snow is so clean and pure when it first falls. It seems to cover everything, sticking to anything. When it snows, the day seems brighter. The cloud coverage is so thick but some how it is still bright. The light shines, reflects and bounces all around, from one flake to the next the light consumes what should be a very dark day. Everything is beautiful.

mission plans and prayers

•21 January 2010 • Leave a Comment

I hope that this note isn’t too lengthy. I will start by filling you in on where I am and where I am headed. Home is now in Oklahoma City and it could never feel more like it. God has worked wonders in my life and has brought my entire family together with a stronger bond then ever before; a bond that can not be broken and which I am thankful for.
I am embarking on a new stage of my life and with that I am happy to have their support. I am starting my first semester of college and I could not be more ready. God has been faithful! He is doing wonderful things and I know that He will continue to be faithful to the end of this chapter and beyond.
As I take my first steps in training for my future, God has given me the opportunity to be plugged into a ministry. Sponsored by Harding University and composed of dear friends of mine this ministry will be a blessing to me and hopefully to others. The chance will not only extend my education into the summer session, but also allow me to join Him in His work.
In May, I will be departing on a social outreach mission trip to the south island of New Zealand for 5 weeks. The church is struggling for growth and needs support. Our purpose is to encourage the members of the body of Christ. My team may struggle but with prayer and preparation God’s glory will prevail and hopefully will shine through us.
The trip is being funded entirely through donations and by those going. Every penny collected will be used to directly benefit the children of the community and the families of the church. Any unused supplies will be left with the missionaries in town. Though, our prayer is to leave a lasting impression in the hearts of the children and the families so that they may be edified, bringing them closer to the face of God.
I am excited about the opportunity to serve and to minister, and I ask you to join me in ministry. Each member of the team has been called to raise a minimum of 3,000. This will cover the expenses throughout our stay and provide more then what money can pay for to our hosts.
I am seeking your support and prayers for this mission. If you are able to assist with this trip, I would ask that you forward any donation in the envelope addressed to.

Please make any negotiable payable to “Harding University” and in the memo line “Global Outreach Funds Ben Williams,” or leave a note with any cash donation for the funds to be appropriated.
Thanks in advance for your prayers and your financial support. May God bless you!

Ben

long time, no talk…

I haven’t been keeping up with my posts very well, ha, it is hard to stay updated through the summer. I will try to catch some of you up to speed on what has been going on lately. I have had an amazing summer since school has been out. These past 2 weeks have been filled with excitement and opportunity to grow closer to God. If you read in one of my original posts and as you can still read in my link on the right entitled, “the beginning,” you will learned that I go to a Christian camp every summer. Well “that time” rolled around a few weeks ago as I attended Senior High 2. I will testify to the fact there is no greater feeling then to commune with the Lord and at camp that opportunity is daily. The relationships I have made from my time there will be carried with me as long as I live. I love the gift of fellowship that Christ died for us to have, I am thankful. After I attended camp, as a camper, I stayed for another week as staff. My sister was there as a camper so I kept my distance but seemingly, like only camp can do, we grew closer together. My time working was amazing, there were a total of 9 people working with me as staff that were together the week before and the time spent with those people I would never change for anything. I love God and all of his blessings, I would wish it for anyone of you to enjoy the same fellowship that I was blessed with having these past weeks.

coming soon

Hey,

I would like to fill everyone in on what to expect and what will hopefully be coming soon. This weekend I will be preparing to film a video that Lord willing I will be posting later next week. I won’t go into much detail about the video but hopefully it will turn out well. I am really excited for this because it gives everyone an opportunity to see the gift that God has given me. Pray all goes well.

Until Another Day,

Ben Williams
